After having considered aquaculture products in order to have a global view of the sector in Spain, a rough outline is made of the marketing channels, characterizing aquaculture products from the farm to the final consumer, while observing how they differ from fishing products. Since, as mentioned hereinafter, the rainbow trout and the mussel are the star products of our aquaculture, their marketing is dealt with in greatest detail. The gaps existing in the marketing of aquaculture products today, as well as the market opportunities for their appropriate commercialization, conclude this brief examination of the trade structure in Spain.
