Current situation of molecular markers for selecting pollination-constant and non astringent type from breeding populations of Japanese persimmon

Yonemori K., Kanzaki S., Sugiura A.

In order to establish an effective breeding system of new Pollination Constant and Non Astringent (PCNA) type persimmons, we are seeking molecular markers which can distinguish PCNA-type in breeding populations at a juvenile stage. In this paper, the results obtained from the trials to seek molecular markers for the selection of PCNA-type persimmons are reviewed.
