Pour un environnement, une agriculture et une économie durables PB - Zaragoza : CIHEAM VL - 12 T3 - Cahiers Options Méditerranéennes SP - 239-242 AB - Agroforestry systems represent a way to maintain sustainable agriculture in Europe. Some problems are still unsolved like the evolution of the system. Resource partitioning is essential in such a pattern because there is a competition between trees and grass of the understory. This work treats radiation interception by the trees. To analyse light partitioning in an agroforestry system, a radiative transfer model is used. The model simulates the transmitted radiation through the trees. First, this model has to be tested with an agroforestry system. Some measures were taken under wild cherries planted in a 4m x 4m disposition with mobile sensors. Data about the trees structure were collected. Simulations of radiation interception were made. Measures and simulations have been compared to make a validation of the model. Intermediate results have been carried out about the variability of tree structures. We have to link them with the variability of the radiation under the trees. These results have to be used to understand the influence of the overstory structure on the radiation available for the understory.
