The lipidic metabolism of the dromedary presents many characteristics: anatomical localisation of the reserves, the shapes of transport of the blood lipids, metabolism of glucose, the butyrate and the cetonic bodies, synthesis of the lipids of milk. These characteristics are probably partly related to the multiple adaptations of this species to the life in the desert, acquired during the evolution of the species. This article takes stock of knowledge on the lipid and energy metabolism like on the secretion of the lipids of milk in the dromedary.
