Fayoum pilot project for the reuse for irrigation

Amer Mohamed H., Alganar D.S.

The constraints to irrigated agriculture development in Fayoum are identified as: inadequacy and unevenness in the distribution of irrigation water; and lack of cropping patterns and associated rotations adopted to an adequate irrigation system capacity. These constraints can be corrected by developing the existing resources and inputs through improved water management, including water supply, by reuse of drainage water for irrigation and crop rotation. This report is designed to shed some light on these problems and to explain some of the well-suited solutions.
