Methodology for the analysis of the organizations and institutions relevant to drought management and mitigation in the Mediterranean
The objective of the first phase of the MEDROPLAN project is to identify and map national, regional and local organizations and institutions in the partner countries as well as international organizations and institutes at the Mediterranean and global level that work on: (i) the collection, processing, storing and disposing of meteorological and hydrological data; and (ii) drought preparedness and mitigation and/or water management. This chapter provides a common methodology for analysing the organizations and institutions relevant to water scarcity and drought management. The common methodology is adequate to provide information that will contribute to comparing among and across countries and to promote the cooperation of MEDROPLAN with the existing institutions, organizations, networks and other stakeholders in the Mediterranean.
