Public financial assistance to the aquaculture industry is an instrument of the European Community's regional cohesion policy. The Community is supporting aquaculture enterprises by two ways: funding research and development and capital grant contributions to physical investment of production projects. Key statements concerning aquaculture are discussed in a 'Green Paper' released by the Commission in the objective of establishing the future Common Fisheries Policy.
