This paper intends to give a general overview of the most important vegetation groupings, spread and dynamic stages of vegetation, in order to identify the interventions for the regeneration of degraded areas. For the identification of the original vegetation and degraded stages, the forest inventories of 1968 and 1985 have been used together with several floristic studies of this region, including those by Baldaci (1908) and Vangjeli (1988), and our ten-year survey. For the analysis of our results and description of vegetation, the principles of SIGMA school have been used. This study is important because, based on the current situation, two main forest species (Quercus ilex L. and Quercus macrolepis Kotschy) and their habitats are threatened and vulnerable. That is why actions for the conservation and regeneration of those habitats are a priority.
