Apports de l'automatisation dans les programmes d'amélioration génétique des petits ruminants

Bibe B., Barillet F., Poivey J.-P.

Recent evolution of hardware and softwares contributed largely to improvement of data collection work in small ruminant flocks involved in selection schemes. It also helped improving quality of information collected. Moreover, important side effects are: faster availability of processed information at the farm level and possible consideration of new breeding goals in selection schemes. Conditions needed for this evolution to be successful are discussed, as well as the possibility to adapt it to with varied situations.
