Impact du pâturage sur les arbustes dans des aménagements sylvopastoraux à objectif de prévention des incendies

Etienne M., Derzko M., Rigolot E.

The browse impact of diverse rearing systems using different sylvopastoral environments with diverse range management practices was studied on Southeastern France. The global rate of utilization of shrubs varied from 2 to 50 per cent, but increased between 1993 and 1994. The specific rate of utilisation was calculated for 20 species. It gave always the same hierarchical classification in relation to their level of palatability but the real value of this index was strongly dependent on site. Three factors mainly explained these variations: shrub species, grazing management and type of animal.
