Réseaux d'agriculteurs autour de l'agriculture de conservation en France : Echanges de savoirs et identités

Goulet F., Chiffoleau Y.

This contribution proposes a sociological analysis of knowledge exchange between French farmers involved in conservation agriculture. It aims to show the links between these dynamics and identity processes. Pointing out original exchange networks, we discuss theories which mainly place exchange networks on a local scale. We identify in fact sociotechnical networks structured on larger geographical scales, polarized around intermediary objects and leaders with a multidimensional status. These networks present also, in a divided profession, a context for an identity reconstruction for farmers sharing social representations intimately linked with the kind of knowledge involved.
