Effect of protection on plant species and growth of natural vegetation in the Western North Coast in Egypt

El Nahrawy M., Mikhiel G.

The impact of protecting biodiversity on forage production and management costs was measured over a 3-year period on an east-west slope in 5 sites. The use of protection measures helped recover 13 annual or perennial species that had disappeared from rangelands. Forage production increased by 300 kg per ha on average, which corresponds to 140 UF.
